The group has won fans the length and breadth of the country with its folk and railway songs - performed live, of course! But you don't have to make it to the gig to hear the heritage railways' premier performers!

Members of Live Steam were in the recording studio throughout the early months of 2001, putting together a new recording - the band's first ever CD. The result - "Silver Jubilee". You can hear excerpts from three tracks on this website!

It's a departure from their previous recorded material, not just because it is in a digital format, but because it does not feature the sort of material that made Live Steam famous - "Silver Jubilee" does not include a single railway song. Instead, the CD features their interpretation of a number of folk classics - songs that members of the band love, and that appear in their live sets alongside the staple diet of railway songs.

Tracks range from traditional north west folk, through the folk styles of all corners of the British Isles, to their interpretation of a Fairport Convention classic "Crazy Man Michael".

Fans of Live Steam need not worry though - the publication of "Silver Jubilee" does not mean the door has been closed on the first 25 years: railway songs still feature very much in the band's repertoire!

"Silver Jubilee" has been performed, recorded and produced by members of Live Steam themselves. All funds raised from the sale of the CD go to the Furness Railway Trust.

"Silver Jubilee" is not Live Steam's only recording: the band has produced a number of cassettes over the years as well....

	Well Oiled And Blowing Off (1988) £4 plus £0.75 post and packing in the UK. Live Steam's first encounter with the recording studio. There had been demand for a permanent record of the band in action for some time, and this was the result. Like its successor, Down the Pan but Still Steaming, this album includes some "after hours" material...
	Still Steaming (1995) £5 plus £0.75 post and packing in the UK. Seven years on, and there was demand for another recording from the group. Again the theme was a mixture of traditional and contemporary songs about the days of steam. (There is also the longer version - Down the Pan but Still Steaming with extra material - see below.)
	Down The Pan But Still Steaming (1995) £6 plus £0.75 post and packing in the UK. In record company parlance, this is the extended remix. Down the Pan but Still Steaming includes some of the band's favourites for performance strictly after last orders have been called and all children (and ladies of a nervous disposition) have left. Here's "Ring of Fire" like you've never heard it before...
	The Iron Road (1996) £4 plus £0.75 post and packing in the UK. Live Steam wrote and performed a musical documentary "The Iron Road" about the history of the Furness Railway to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the FR in 1996. The show featured not only songs - some specially written - but also narration. BBC Radio Cumbria made this recording, which has been released as a tape with the blessing of the BBC.
