The Trust is establishing a workshop and museum at the Ribble Steam Railway in Preston. It is envisaged that this will become the centre of the FRT operation, restoring and overhauling our collection, which will then be made available for hire, sometimes to the RSR, sometimes to heritage railways up and down the country.

FR Number 20 is currently operational locomotive in residence at Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon.

5643 is on hire to the Bluebell Railway for the rest of 2014.

"Cumbria" is currently undergoing overhaul at the Ribble Steam Railway. 

"Fluff" is at the Ribble Steam Railway. 

The North London Railway 2nd class coach is at the Ribble Steam Railway.

Great Eastern Railway No. 5 former Royal Saloon is on hire to the Beamish Open Air Museum, County Durham.

The LMS Brake van is on hire to the Rocks By Rail, formerly the Rutland Railway Museum.

All other FRT stock is at the Ribble Steam Railway or at private sites.

Beamish North of England open air museum hosted FR Number 20 in 2008 and 2010, and the Royal Saloon 2010-date.
