The Trust's roving ambassador is already clocking up the mileage at heritage railways up and down the country. To the end of 2007, in just 16 months service, the loco amassed 3678 miles running on heritage lines across the country.

When is 5643 next due to be in action: |
5643 is currently undergoing its annual boiler examination. It is due to haul Easter train services at the Ribble Steam Railway, before returning to its normal base, the Llangollen Railway, later in April. Note: 5643's previously advertised visit to the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway in South Wales for Easter, to perform the reopening ceremony of Blaenavon High Level station, has been cancelled. The new station has not been completed in time due to the snows of December and January. |

5643 has another major booking with the Llangollen Railway from April 2010. 5643 will visit the Midland Railway - Butterley in May for the 1960s gala weekend. 5643 is booked to run at the Vintage Train weekend on 1st - 3rd May 2010, and will then operate Footplate Experience courses on Friday 7th May 2010 in advance of starring in the the 1960s event on 8th and 9th May 2010. |
